Cold house in Bothell? We handle furnace repair on gas and electric systems from Canyon Park and North Creek to Westhill and downtown, usually same-day. Nothing gets repaired until you’ve seen and approved the price.

Homes here run from big 1970s and 1980s ramblers to brand-new townhomes, and the furnaces inside vary just as much. Gas or electric, these are the failures that come up most.
The inducer starts but the igniter never glows. Hot surface igniters crack with age; older furnaces may have a pilot or thermocouple problem instead.
Flames come on and drop out within seconds. A coated flame sensor is the classic culprit, and cleaning or replacing it is quick.
On a 90%-plus furnace, a clogged condensate trap or drain can trip the pressure switch and lock out the burners.
Electric furnaces heat with resistance elements. A burned-out element, failed sequencer or tripped breaker leaves the fan pushing lukewarm air.
The burners fire but no air moves, so the furnace overheats and shuts off. We test the motor, capacitor and board.
Short bursts of heat, then off again. A clogged filter, closed registers or a failing blower often trips the high-limit switch.
Smell gas? Everyone out, no light switches, then phone 911 or Puget Sound Energy (1-888-225-5773) once you’re outside. CO alarm? Get out and call 911. We’ll fix the furnace once they say it’s safe.
King County side or Snohomish County side, pricing works the same: you’ll know the visit cost before we come and approve the repair price before any part goes in.
Waived when the repair is finished the same day, and our truck carries common furnace parts to make that likely.
Testing comes first, then one upfront price for the fix. Work starts only after you say yes, and that number holds.
Bigger jobs, like an inducer motor or a full replacement, can go on Wisetack, at 0% interest for 12 months when you qualify.
The waiver doesn’t apply when a second trip is needed, such as when a manufacturer warranty part has to be ordered for your furnace.
PSE gas furnaces and electric furnaces alike, from 1980s originals to last year's models, most makes included.
We fix what can be fixed, even on older furnaces, and give a straight answer when one is truly done.
From our Lake Stevens base, Canyon Park and North Creek are an easy run south, and same-day visits are usually doable.
Repair is the first answer we look for. Most furnace failures come down to one part, and one part costs far less than a new system.
Replacement enters the conversation for three reasons: a cracked heat exchanger, which can leak carbon monoxide; a repair quote creeping toward half of what a new furnace costs; or a unit that keeps failing. If one of those shows up, whether in a 1970s rambler or a 2005 townhome, we'll show you what we found and let you decide.

“Mauro was incredible. Super personable, explained things in a clear way, and did great work on our old furnace. Would highly recommend!”

“Had Sound Comfort out for a furnace tune-up. … They found a leaking condensate-trap joint and a weak capacitor, explained both clearly, and the tech even told me how to save money sourcing the parts myself instead of going through them. No pressure, no upsell, just straight answers. Exactly what you want from an HVAC company.”
“I had my 22 year old furnace replaced. I Contacted 7 total Heating companies for a bid. Out of those 7 contractors, Sound Comfort Heating is the BEST in all categories: pricing, customer experience, knowledge and same day installation. Also the installation is seamless. Super clean! Which makes us really happy. I Definitely highly recommend Marco and Carson. I am very thankful for them. I made the best decision because they are amazing.”

When a repair or replacement is more than this month’s budget allows, you can split it into monthly Wisetack payments, with 0% interest for 12 months available on approved credit. Klarna works too.

Each furnace repair we make is covered by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and a warranty of 1 year parts and labor. Join a S.M.A.R.T. Plan and repair coverage doubles to 2 years.

Yes. We cover the whole city, from downtown and the Sammamish River valley on the King County side to Canyon Park in Snohomish County. Gas is PSE everywhere; electric is PSE on the King side and Snohomish County PUD up north.
A gas furnace has a gas pipe with a shutoff valve running into the cabinet and a vent pipe leaving it. No gas line and a large two-pole breaker usually means electric, a setup common in manufactured homes.
The visit starts with a $159 diagnostic, which we waive if the repair gets done that same day. After testing, you get an upfront repair price and decide whether to go ahead.
A repair usually doesn’t. A replacement inside city limits needs a City of Bothell mechanical permit, which can be applied for on MyBuildingPermit.com, and electrical work is permitted through Washington L&I. More on HVAC installation in Bothell.
Yes. Bothell has a bigger share of manufactured homes than Everett or Edmonds, and many use a downflow furnace, often electric, in a hallway closet. We repair those, and we install Intertherm electric furnaces when one is beyond saving.
That’s usually delayed ignition: gas builds up for a moment before it catches, often from dirty or misaligned burners or a gas pressure problem. It stresses the heat exchanger, so turn the furnace off and call for a repair.
